Our event takes place in Poznań – the capital of Greater Poland, and the cradle of the Polish State. Poznań is a modern city of business, also abundant in green areas and the relics of the beginnings the Polish statehood. They include the historic old market square with the city hall, the emperor’s castle and the 9th century Arch-cathedral Basilica – the first cathedral in Poland. The base of the event is located at a picturesque Maltańskie Lake, which was many times the arena of the most important sport events in the world – World and Europe Championship in canoeing, rowing, dragon boat races as well as the European Cup in triathlon in 2006. Right at the swimming and running route with the start and finish zone, there are stands for the fans, and thus every participant may count on great support on their part.
The Maltańskie Lake is located almost in the very centre of the city. All crucial points on the map of the event are located in the very close vicinity, creating the base of the event, in which the gathered audience will easily keep track of the entire competition, counting, at the same time, on additional attractions. The competition base is perfectly connected with main access roads to the city and the airport. At the same time, it is located in a very close distance from the residential part of the city, encouraging local community to come and support the athletes on the route. The Maltańskie Lake is each day a place for walks and leisure of thousands of inhabitants of Poznań and the neighbouring area, as well as an important point on the map of tourist trips around the city. In the vicinity of the competition base there is a modern Poznań zoo with many elements unheard of in other facilities of this type, including the most modern elephant farm in Europe.
Poznań is a city is perfectly connected to other cities in Poland and abroad. Via the motorway, Warsaw and Berlin can be reached within 2.5h. In Poznań there is also an international airport in the distance of 5km from the city centre very well connected to the competition base, providing connection with 25 cities in Europe. The competition base is located almost in the very centre of the city, at the same time enabling comfortable access, omitting the city centre by means of a bypass. Near the start/finish zone there are more than 500 parking places at the distance of 1km and more than 2000 places at the distance of 2.5km, providing convenient conditions for the starters and the spectators.
Poznań has a base of more than 60 hotel facilities, with in total more than 7000 accommodation places of various standards. Right at the competition base, there are 3 hotels with 3 * standard and a camping site. Therefore, every participant of the event along with visitors will easily find the accommodation to suit his or her expectations.
